Everyone loves an apple; or at least most of us do. 1. Weight Loss

Apples are rich with soluble fiber which reduces cholesterol in the blood by binding with bile acid, so that very little cholesterol is turned into fats, hence you do not put on weight. Apples were also discovered, in a study, to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) and increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (the good cholesterol), thereby reducing weight (as it is the bad cholesterol which is mostly converted into fats)

2. Can reduce the risk of stroke, heart and other cardiovascular diseases

The ability of soluble fiber in apples to bind to bile acid, helps reduce cholesterol levels in the blood, which further reduces the chances of atherosclerosis forming–which would put greater pressure on the heart to pump with more energy, and can lead to a heart attack. Atherosclerosis can also rupture the blood vessel, causing strokes and other cardiovascular conditions.

3. Can reduce the chances of type 2 diabetes occurring

Soluble fiber in apples being able to bind with bile acid in the digestive system by slowing down food digestion, reduces the amount of sugars and glucose going into the blood, and can reduce sugar and glucose levels in the blood. By this process, apples can help to reduce, if not eliminate, the risk of type 2 diabetes occurring especially since type 2 diabetes occurs when the blood sugar level is too high.

4. Can improve brain function

Studies have shown that apples boost the production of the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, which helps you to remember more, think better and do more with your brain.
