1.Refined Vegetable oil
They are all full of fats. Refined here means to add more complex and to make richer. This therefore means it is not vegetable oil alone. However, this is entirely explained by a drastic increase in the consumption of refined vegetable oils, such as soybean oil, corn oil etc. These oils are very high in omega-6 fatty acids, which humans never consumed in such large amounts before. There are many serious concerns with these refined oils. They are highly sensitive to oxidation and cause increased oxidative stress in the body. They have also been linked to increased risk of cancer.
2.Candy bars
Candies are incredibly unhealthy because they are high in sugar, refined wheat flour and processed fats. Candies are processed foods that are generally engineered to be super tasty and have been designed so that it’s very easy to eat them quickly. A candy bar may taste good and cause some short-term satiety, but you’ll be hungry again very quickly because of the way these high-sugar treats are metabolized. If you’re going to eat them, pick ones with fewer or less calories and also less sugar per serving. You are always advice to read labels and choose bars with just few ingredients.
3.Fruit juice
Fruit juice is natural and are all packed with Vitamin C. Well, this is right but do not forget they are also processed and might add other unhealthy and non -natural ingredients to make it super tasty even after it is kept for a long while. What’s more, most of the sweetness in juice comes from fructose, a type of sugar which is insulin resistance when we take high amount of them and might result to diabetes.
4.Salad dressing
Salad dressing contains Sodium. It is used as a thickening agent in salad dressing and, in high quantities, it can cause cancer and other complications. Go for olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, mustard etc which are just some of the whole ingredients you can use in your kitchen that will be far less likely to cause harm.
5.Jelly and jams
These classic spreads look innocent enough, but they’re really just pieces of fruit full with calorie and sugar with a natural fruit fiber that makes the spread nice and sticky. What’s so bad about it is that, flavors like Strawberry and grape Jelly both contain high levels of pectin and quite a bit of added sugar, so be rest assured it is totally bad for your health especially when consume in large amounts.
6.Frozen meals
Most people buy frozen dinners for a quick and easy meal, or to help lose weight. But many of them are laden with hydrogenated oils which in turn means they contain trans -fat in some amount. Since you’ll most likely be microwaving these meals, you’re also adding to their unhealthiness, further destroying any nutrients they might contain, and processing the ingredients even further.
7.Artificial sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners have been under the spotlight for decades now as health food advocates point out that they can come with a list of side effects, much like a drug. The side effects that are claimed by those against sweeteners like aspartame include some really severe conditions, such as depression, blindness etc. Whether they’re wrong or right it seems best to sidestep the problem altogether.
