There are several heath complications that could come with sitting down for a long period of time. Such complications increase the risk of death in our everyday life. It could be sitting behind the desk at work for a couple of hours or watching the television all day. Many of us are not aware of the risks we put our health through by sitting so much.
Although, working out and visiting the gym often does help, this might not be enough to balance out the effects of too much sitting. Even with exercises, the risk of death is high.
Below are some risks that can occur due to long hours of sitting.
1. Diabetes
Sitting for too long slows down metabolism rates; affecting the body’s ability to regulate sugar effectively. This, in turn, causes blood sugar levels to spike and eventually leads to diabetes.
2. Obesity
Obesity arises from an excess storage of fats in the body. There’s a harmful effect on the breakdown of fats that occurs when people sit too much: these fats get stored in the abdomen and eventually results in obesity.
3. Cardiovascular disease
The storage of fats in the abdomen or around the stomach region, increases the risk of heart disease. These fats build up in the arteries that supply blood and oxygen to the heart. By doing this, they increase the pressure at which blood flows to the heart, resulting in heart disease.
4. Cancer
Diabetes and obesity are one of the common leading causes of cancer and excessive sitting and a generally sedentary lifestyle are very quick ways to developing both.
5. Bleary brain

6. Shorter life span
Spending longer hours on seat increases your risk of death. All other risks mentioned above falls back to a likelihood of death.
Conclusion
