Adrenaline fatigue refers to a phenomenon characterized by a disruption of your adrenal glands’ ability to make cortisol in the right amounts at the right times in response to stress. If you’re wondering why you’re always tired even after sleeping the whole night then you probably have your answer right there.
However, all hope is not lost. There are ways to deal with this condition and we’ve made sure to accurately gather them for you.
1. Eat Natural Whole Foods
Eating natural whole foods can do anything from improving skin tone to preventing various types of cancers. Natural foods have color. Just by looking at the color, you can tell what its healing properties are. That’s why doctors advise that we all eat a wide range of foods; eat the rainbow everyday. Here is a simple breakdown to help you stay on track and remember to switch it a bit so you don’t get bored and slip into a junk food binge.
RED
Most foods that have a reddish tint or color to them is because of the lycopene. It is a very powerful antioxidant which promotes healthy prostate and breast tissue. Red veggies and fruits are a source of flavonoids which reduce inflammation. Cranberries(whose color is caused by anthocyanins, not lycopene) are a great source of tannins, which prevent bacteria from attaching to the cells. It is especially good for preventing bladder infections. Food cranberries, tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit, guava
BLUE/PURPLE
The reason for the bluish/purplish coloring is because of the presence of the antioxidant called anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is heart healthy and supports healthy blood pressure; wards off heart disease by preventing blood clot formation. Foods containing this antioxidant might also lower the risk of cancer. Foods like eggplant (especially the skin), blueberries, blackberries, prunes, plums, pomegranates.
GREEN
Foods rich in isothiocyanates induce enzymes in the liver that assist the body in removing potentially carcinogenic compounds. Cruciferous veggies such as cabbage and broccoli contain phytochemicals indoles and isothiocyanates which may have anticancer properties. Green veggies are a good source of Vitamin K, folic acid, potassium as well as carotenoids and Omega3 fatty acids. Folic acid is needed to prevent neural tube defect during pregnancy and Vitamin K is essential for blood clot formation.Diets high in potassium are associated with lowering blood pressure and also, there is an inverse relationship between cruciferous veggies and cancer, especially colon and bladder cancers.
YELLOW/GREEN
A variation of green colored foods are very high in lutein. Lutein is particularly beneficial for eye health and prevents agerelated macular degeneration. There are lutein receptors in the macula of the eye. Foods include avocado, spiach and other leafy greens, kiwifruit, pistachio nuts.
YELLOW/ORANGE
Fruits and vegetables that have such a hue are rich in betacryptoxanthin and Vitamin C. Orange foods have betacarotene which is good antioxidant. Beta-carotene, betacryptoxanthin and alphacarotene are carotenoids that get converted into Vitamin A in the body which is essential for good vision, strong immunity, healthy skin and bones. Foods include:- mangoes, palmoil, carrots, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, apricots.
2. DRINK A LOT OF WATER
Adrenal fatigue caused by not properly filtered kidneys can be avoided by hydrating the body throughout the day to prevent infections and complications. Drinking a lot of water helps to wash out the waste made by the cells in the body. If these toxins stay in the body, they make the body ill. So make sure to rehydrate after sweating and instead of sodas and coffees, make sure to always drink water.
3. WORKOUT
Just moving 20 minutes a day is enough to keep you healthy. Make sure to switch up from time to time to prevent boredom. For beginners, start with a brisk walk and a light evening jog then build up when you feel that you are about to hit a plateau.
4. RELAX
Whenever you feel exhausted, STOP. Don’t go to work or school, rescue yourself from any commitments and rest your body. Stress sustained over a long period can have devastating effects on the body and can be potentially fatal. Soak in the bathtub, have a glass of orange juice, read a magazine, take a 4 hour nap; just relax and……….breathe….deep.
5. AVOID ARTIFICIAL CHEMICALS
Some persons, for one reason or another, are very sensitive to manmade chemicals. There have been individuals who have had catastrophic medical happenings from rashes to seizures! So, to be on the safe side, just avoid them as much as possible. It is almost impossible to avoid them entirely, but do you best to not consciously ingest either orally or topically.
CONCLUSION
The bottom line is this: No matter what that deadline for that contract or project is, you must always remember to take good care of your body to avoid adrenal fatigue.
