2. Whole Grains
You’ve most likely heard that whole grains are healthy and also weight-loss friendly. But that’s just a misconception that has been spread around the internet. As a matter of fact, whole grains might actually be the number 1 offender when it comes to messing with your metabolism.
There are 3 main compounds in grains that hurt your metabolism and these are gluten, starch and phytic acid. Gluten causes inflammation, which in turn can lead to so many diseases. Starch turns into sugar quickly and as for the phytic acids, they bind to minerals and so you can’t really gain from the minerals and vitamins from the whole grain.
3. Artificial Sweeteners
This might come to you as a surprise since most of the adverts on television tell you that you can consume these artificial sweeteners, without consuming any calories and maintaining a thin waistline. This, however, is not true.
These sweeteners can stimulate your appetite and increase your cravings for carbohydrates, so you end up consuming more calories which you most likely wouldn’t have consumed if you didn’t use these sweeteners.
Studies have shown that drinking one “diet” soda per day can significantly increase your risk of gaining more weight.

These 3 foods should have no place in your diet at all. You could probably reduce your consumption of these foods to just one or two servings, a week.
